Congratulations on the advent of Nowruz – the beginning of spring and the new year

On March 21st, the Nowruz holiday is celebrated. This holiday is associated with the arrival of spring. It coincides with the date of the vernal equinox, an event in which daylight equals night. The holiday of the beginning of the new year and spring Nowruz is traditionally celebrated in Iran, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Albania, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Tatarstan, Bashkiria and Dagestan. In addition, this day is celebrated by the natives of Persian and Turk people living outside their countries, for example, residents of the eastern China, Iranian and Tatar diasporas in the United States and Western European countries.

The word “Nowruz” translated from Persian as a “new day”. Ten years ago, UNESCO included the holiday in the List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Mankind. From that moment on, it is called “International Nowruz Day”. The holiday is an integral part of the national culture of many peoples of the East who profess Islam, but at the same time it has nothing with religion.

It is customary to prepare for the holiday by cleaning the house, taking out the garbage, making a rearrangement. It is also important to prepare the soul and mind: to forgive old grievances, to distribute debts, to get rid of what is burdensome.

We congratulate everyone who celebrates this holiday! We wish you all peace, happiness, good luck, health and well-being! May love reign in your homes, and the sky will always be blue and cloudless!
